Decarbonizing Logistics: A Strategic Opportunity to Build
the New Logistics for India

21st February 2025 | Bengaluru

Overview

Companies need to reduce their logistics emissions to meet decarbonisation targets but very few have clear plans. This town hall will explore the best path forward for Indian companies. The focus will be on Scope 3 emissions embedded in the company supply chain.

Their biggest challenge will be Logistics. Logistics and warehousing contributes about 10 per cent of total global CO2 emission. Transport will frustrate all attempts to decarbonise logistics, as it is expected to grow threefold by 2050. As India grows warehousing needs are also going to multiply. Corporates need to transform their logistics much faster to achieve sustainability goals. While shippers have set decarbonisation goals there is limited availability of high quality widely available low cost logistics and warehousing today.

To address this, major logistics companies have launched new initiatives and set ambitious goals to incorporate sustainability into their operations. Many firms are taking notable actions to cut their carbon footprints and drive positive change. The aim of sustainable logistics is to minimize environmental impacts, including CO2 emissions, noise pollution, and accidents. Logistics providers must balance achieving financial growth, protecting the environment, and ensuring societal well-being.

ISCM brings you a power town hall where 20 of India’s leading sustainability and supply chain professionals will meet and discuss the challenges associated with sustainability in both upstream and downstream supply chains and how technology can help companies attain their “Net Zero” goals.

The town hall will be followed by a lunch.
